2009 Spring KickOff Parents' Meeting Attracts a Crowd

Thank you all that attended yesterday’s LISOT Spring Parents’ Meeting. The turnout was obviously spectacular. Over 100 enthusiastic parents enjoyed the wonderful Beach Point Club dining room overlooking a serene Long Island Sound as a major Nor'easter was marching up the East Coast.

Those in attendance got to hear about the great plans for the Optimist, 420 and Laser Radial groups, all outlined in the presentation below:

Lisot 2009 Parents Mtg 3.1.09

Chris Kuehn and Joan Mollerus gave an overview of the ever growing Laser Radial program they are building including some regattas and events planned.

Phil Factor highlighted the amazing year the 420s have had, the impressive results at many top regattas and the plans for 2009.

The 2 hour meeting wrapped up with a review of what's on tap for the Opti program by Michael Rudnick and Bill Crane.

For those that couldn't make the meeting, or have questions, please don't hesitate to contact anyone at LISOT. Email addresses can be found on the lisot website.

Today the weather on Long Island Sound didn’t look like it but the first day of Optimist training for the USODA Team Trials is only 5 days away. The USODA Team Trials will be hosted by Noroton YC in May.

We hope to see you soon,

Doug Wefer – President, LISOT Sailing Foundation
